At Sacred Heart, children learn how faith affects the beliefs and actions of people. They practise living in a community of faith, and have the opportunity to develop and deepen their relationship with Christ. They learn that through the sacraments, we encounter Christ in a special way. Preparation to receive the sacraments occurs in school with the support of the parish and of parents.
If you wish for yourself or your child to prepare for and celebrate the sacraments of Baptism, First Reconciliation and First Communion we have an annual programme in partnership with the parish you can engage with alongside our parish priest, Father Michael Keogh and our parish catechists.
First Holy Communion
The school and parish of Sacred Heart work together to prepare our children to receive the Sacraments of Reconciliation and the Eucharist.
The programme identifies themes, which are developed with the children and their parents through evening meetings led by our parish priest and catechists.
The Sacrament of First Holy Communion usually takes place in June with Year 3-6 who enrol in the programme.
